‘Santa Monica’
$2,500.00

Throw sized 44”x56”

The ‘Santa Monica’ quilt is made with flour sack tea towels that have been hand dyed using avocado skins and pits for the design on the front and combinations of marigold and wattle for the backing. All pieces of dyed fabric were mordanted with soy milk to ensure longevity of the colors. The fabric itself is extremely soft and fluffy, almost resembling muslin in its’ texture.

This quilt is 100% hand sewn, from the piecing to binding. The pattern on the front consists of 504 triangles arranged in a geometric pattern. The quilting throughout was done by hand with Japanese unbleached cotton Sashiko thread. The completion of ‘Santa Monica’ took around 50-55 hours.

This lightweight quilt has 100% cotton batting. While this is a fully functional piece, please take care of it, as it is an art piece. If washing is needed, please use cold water and avoid the use of bleach. Thank you so much for your support in my small business! I can’t wait to see this beautiful piece be loved and snuggled with!
